Minka Kelly is 'Sexiest Woman Alive' of 2010.

Minka Kelly has been named the sexiest woman alive by men's magazine Esquire and the 30-year-old Friday Night Lights actress says her twenties were a "pain in the ass" and reminisces about night time supermarket trips with her mother, who was a stripper.

"Done with the twenties," Kelly told Esquire. "I'm confident - confident in my skin, and I'm cool with my flaws and all that stuff.""It just feels nice to be at peace with yourself,' Kelly said. "I think my thirtieth birthday gave me permission to have all that. The twenties were a pain in the ass- figuring it all out. What am I doing? Where do I go?"

Kate Beckinsale, the 37-year-old actress of films such as Pearl Harbor and Underworld, was named the Sexiest Woman Alive in 2009 by the magazine.

Kelly is the daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay and Las Vegas showgirl Maureen Kelly, who died in 2008. The actress, who is also the girlfriend of New York Yankees baseball player Derek Jeter, grew up in Los Angeles and pursued acting after she graduated from high school.
"She - for most of my life, she was a dancer," Kelly said about her mother. "An exotic dancer. She was a stripper. Um, so she would come home at like three, four o'clock in the morning, and sometimes she would have a really great night, and so she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we'd go to Ralphs and go grocery shopping."
It is not uncommon to see supermarkets in Los Angeles filled with customers during unconventional shopping hours. One Hollywood branch of Ralphs, a subsidiary of retail food chain Kroger, is often dubbed "Rock n' Rolls Ralphs" as rockers and other celebrities are often seen perusing the aisles at night.
"That was so much fun," Kelly said. "We'd have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy a hundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The best day."
Kelly, who played a teenage cheerleader on the drama series Friday Night Lights and now portrays a behavioural aide in the show Parenthood, says that her life experience makes up for her lack of professional acting training.
"No matter what you're doing, live it," Kelly said. "Make an experience. Have fun. Relate to someone. Take them in. Learn. Right? Or else you're wasting your time. And time is precious. I didn't go to theater school. I didn't go to Julliard. But I've lived a lot. I've seen a lot. I feel like that makes up for a little bit. I've lived a lot at my young age."
