Today starts Tax Free weekend!on NC! This is your chance to save some money in purchasing goods, and many of you can take advantage to buy back to school supplies. I know it may not be much but it’s something at least and if you have multiple children this could be a substantial saving in school supplies!
But you can also buy sports equipment, computer and computer equipment.

The limitations are the following: for sports equipment $50, for computers $3,500! and for computer Equipment $250!.
Local retailers and office supplies stores will surely have a busy weekend. As they state, this weekend can be even busier than Black Friday!
The tax free weekend will end on Sunday at 11:59 pm. No matter if you are Team Mac or Team PC, everyone can agree on one thing about computers this weekend: They offer the most savings potential on the tax-free holiday.
Computers' price limit for exemption — $3,500! — is the highest of all the categories.

“This is a once-in-a-year opportunity,” said Tom Quinlan, Charlotte Street Computers' Mac sales manager. The 10th annual North Carolina sales tax holiday began at 12:01 a.m. today and ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

According to the state's definition, a computer includes a central processing unit, monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.
Computer supplies! with a sales price of $250 or less are also exempt this weekend, and that includes handheld electronic schedulers and personal digital assistants — except devices that are also cellular phones.
So that means items that are a part of the booming smart phone market, such as the Apple iPhone, do not qualify. But there are still several hot new gadgets that qualify for savings. One such item: iPad, the Apple tablet computer, which was released in April.
It's also a good time to pick up a new Macs Laptop!. The line has been updated in the last three months, Quinlan said. “The new iMacs have been out since October,” he said. “I am sure we are going to sell a lot of those … (Apple) usually updates once a year.”
Something that almost never happens: Mac products going on sale, said Wendy Moore, store manager of City Mac. So no need to wait for a better sale to come along, Moore noted, “tax-free is the way to go.”
Although CityMac offered pre-order opportunities, employees at the store on Biltmore Avenue are still preparing for a rush. “We are going to have ourselves fully staffed,” Moore said, and will be bulking up the tax-exempt inventory. “Almost all of our computers are under $3, 500,” she said.
Moore anticipates the MacBook Pro line, which was just updated a couple months ago, to be a hot item this weekend.
In the personal computer world outside of Mac, computers that have internal air cards that allow for wireless Internet connectivity anywhere are a must-have, said Mason Sprinkle, computers and portable electronics supervisor at Best Buy.
